First “The Girl on the Train” Trailer Features Murder and Infidelity

The highly anticipated film The Girl on the Train just got its first trailer. Adapted from Paula Hawkin’s 2015 novel of the same name, the film follows Rachel Watson (Emily Blunt) after she witnesses a small moment that may help solve a murder mystery.

Billed as the next Gone Girl, the trailer is set to a revamped version of Kanye West’s 2008 song “Heartless” and features plenty of moody and shadowy shots of the cast looking mysterious. All jokes aside, the book was wildly successful for a reason and the film looks like its set to make viewers experience that same thrill as we try to unravel the mystery along with Rachel, who also happens to be an alcoholic and an extremely unreliable narrator.

Justin Theroux, Haley Bennett, Luke Evans, Rebecca Ferguson, Laura Prepon, Allison Janney and Lisa Kudrow round out the cast alongside Blunt. The Girl on the Train is directed by Tate Taylor and slated to hit theaters on October 7, 2016.
