Hilary Swank Headlines Alzheimers Film “What They Had”

It’s that time of year where we start to get trailers for films hoping to nab Oscar nominations. Hilary Swank is throwing her hat in the ring with What They Had, a film with an all-star cast and heartbreaking story.

Directed and written by Elizabeth Chomko, the film centers on a family in crisis. Bridget (Swank) returns home to Chicago at her brother’s (Michael Shannon) urging to deal with her ailing mother (Blythe Danner) and her father’s (Robert Forster) reluctance to let go of their life together.

It looks like a tearjerker, but one that wants to reflect reality in its honest moments of pain, laughter and anger that seem unavoidable with families. Watch the trailer below and mark your calendars for October 12.
