First Look at “Bohemian Rhapsody” Will Rock You

Freddie Mercury was a larger-than-life icon. So, naturally, it makes sense to turn his turbulent life into a biopic. iRobot star Rami Malek steps into the spotlight as Freddie himself, donning mustache and fake teeth to emulate the rock star.

The trailer combines glimpses of the film with many of Queen’s most famous hits, from the titular “Bohemian Rhapsody” to “We Will Rock You” to “We Are the Champions”. Drama unfolds, Malek dances across stages and plays to sold out stadiums in a whirlwind of a trailer that hints at darker times.

Bohemian Rhapsody chronicles the rise of Queen, their music and lead singer Mercury through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, through troubled times as Mercury’s lifestyle threatens to ruin the band, and through their triumphant return to the stage at Live Aid, where Mercury was facing a life-threatening illness, AIDS.

Besides Malek as Mercury, the film also stars Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aiden Gillen, Tom Hollander and Mike Myers. Directed by Bryan Singer, Tom Hooper and Dexter Fletcher, the film hits theaters on November 2, 2018.
