Star Wars’ Hans Solo Origin Project Begins Production

The galaxy’s favorite scruffy, nerf herder is back in Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s Han Solo: A Star Wars Story. The origin story of our favorite rebel started production today, releasing a cast cockpit photo from what we assume is the Millennium Falcon

Empire Strikes Back writer Lawrence Kasdan is back with son Jon Kasdan to take all of us on an amazing ride as we follow Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo, discovering how he meets his right hand Wookie, Chewbacca.

The amazing Donald Glovery will play fellow smuggler and scoundrel Lando Calrissian while Woody Harrelson stars as Solo’s mentor Garris Shrike. Rounding out the cast are Thandie Newton and Emilia Clarke, both of which will play characters we have absolutely no idea about.

And that’s it. Zilch. Nada.

There hasn’t been a single plot point revealed or rumor leaked that would give fans even a small inkling as to what they can expect from this upcoming stand alone project. Hell we don’t even have an official title.

Disney is really good with both their Star Wars and Marvel properties when it comes to keeping secrets, so don’t expect much for at least a few months. However, the one thing that is for certain is that this film will be a runaway hit.

No one knew a thing about Rogue One and it was one of the biggest hits of 2016. Take into account that this time around we are dealing with the hugely popular Han. Freaking. Solo and it is hard to deny that this thing is gonna be crazy. Lawrence Kasdan argulably wrote the best Star Wars film in Empire Strikes Back, which provided the Solo so far, along with the introduction of Lando Calrissian, so there is going to be both anticipation and apprehension from diehard and casual fans alike.

The Han Solo film is set for release May 18, 2018.
