Sing-Along to “Moana” in Theaters This Month

Moana and friends are returning to theaters and this time you can sing along without being thrown out!
On January 27, Disney will release a special sing-along version of the hit animated film before its digital release on February 21 and on Blu-ray March 7, 2017. The sing-along version of Moana will have lyrics on screen so audiences can sing the tunes penned by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa’i.
Hot off their Golden Globe nomination for “How Far I’ll Go”, Disney hopes to bring families back to theaters so audiences can freely belt along with our titular hero (voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho) as she goes on a daring mission across the ocean to fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest alongside arrogant but kind demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson).

Originally released over Thanksgiving weekend, Moana garnered critical acclaim and has been nominated for multiple awards. Disney proves once again, with its 56th animated feature, that they remain the kings of the animated market.

So turn off your Spotify stream of the soundtrack and head to theaters this month to sing-along, whether it’s with Maui’s ear worm “You’re Welcome” or Moana’s moving belter “I Am Moana” or even the Bowie-inspired “Shiny” sung by a giant crab.
