“Justice League: Throne of Atlantis” Is Getting the 4k Treatment

Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. are releasing the Commemorative Edition of Justice League: Throne of Atlantisin a newly remastered 4K presentation.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise since this is being remastered a month before Warner Bros. releases James Wan’s Aquaman starring Jason Mamoa.

Throne of Atlantis follows Arthur Curry (Aquaman) as he discovers that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Atlantis, hence the title. The main difference between the animated and live action feature is that the animated feature includes the rest of the Justice League.

This film is one the better animated films in the Justice League franchise.  It is directed by Ethan Spaulding  (Son of Batman) and has great pacing, a great storyline and an amazing voice cast including stars Matt Lanter (TimelessStar Wars: The Clone Wars, 90210) as Aquaman, Sam Witwer (Being Human, Smallville, Star Wars: Rebels) as Orm, Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle) as Batman, Christopher Gorham (Insatiable, Two Broke Girls, Covert Affairs) as Flash, Nathan Fillion (The Rookie, Castle) as Green Lantern, Shemar Moore (S.W.A.T., Criminal Minds) as Cyborg, Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Daredevil) as Wonder Woman, Jerry O’Connell (Real Men Watch Bravo, The Death of Superman) as Superman, Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) as Shazam, Sumalee Montano (Scandal, Critical Role) as Mera, Sirena Irwin (Superman: Unbound) as Queen Atlanna, and Harry Lennix (Man of Steel, The Blacklist) as Manta.

The Commemorative Edition will come with a slew of extra features, including featurettesAquamen: The New King and Scoring Atlantis: The Sound of the Deep, an audio commentary and an onslaught of cartoons from the DC Comics vault – amongst a mountain of others.  (Trust me, this thing is loaded!!!)

This jam-packed special edition is set to hit stores on November 13.
