R.I.P Dennis Hopper

After a long battle with prostate cancer, American actor Dennis Hopper has died. His family confirmed his passing, stating that he passed early Saturday morning, surrounded by family and friends. He was 74 years-old.

Known for his work on such classics as Easy Rider and Hoosiers, Hopper was as respected in front of the camera as he was behind. He was nominated for two Oscars in his career, one for best screenplay (Easy Riders) and one for Best-Supporting Actor (Hoosiers). Other notable performances are that in Speed, Apocalypse Now and George A. Romero's Land of the Dead. He also preformed on the small screen in such hits as Fox's '24' and Starz's 'Crash.'

Hopper had beet battling cancer for years. He was last seen in public in March when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His recent divorce battle turned bitter, keeping his name in the news. The judge eventually ruled in the favor of his estranged wife Victoria Duffy.
