Loosely based on Reginald Rose's 'Twelve Angry Men', 12 is a modern and relative story about twelve jurors who must decide the fate of one Chechen teenager, charged with murdering his Russian military serving stepfather. Filled with awkward silence, the anxiety of being around strangers and the restlessness that can come from such a situation, director Nikita Mikhalkov re-introduces the moral rich story that took the world by storm over 50 years ago.
