Let me begin by saying From Paris with Love is a ridiculous movie. And this ridiculous movie was more enjoyable than any action movie I have seen this year. It was filled with cornball writing and over the top fight sequences, which I usually find appalling. But for some reason, this time I thought it worked. I believe my overall enjoyment of the movie can be accredited to one man: John Travolta. If you had asked me last week if I had thought that I would ever type that sentence, I would have laughed in your face.

With the holiday season fast approaching, parents are anxiously trying to find a film that will appeal to the entire family. At first glance, Old Dogs would look to fit the bill, especially considering its star appeal and canine involvement. But upon further investigation, the film that could have been proves to be nothing more than an immature product that rarely causes a laugh or a smile.

For years audiences marveled over the life of Lassie as they found themselves intrigued with her instinctive actions and sincere charm. But no one ever wondered how they got Lassie to perform like she did. Was she coaxed? Could it have been some sort of training? Or was the innocent dog being fooled the entire time? More than likely it was due to an intense round of training, but all three points are quite possible.

Taking of Pelham 123, The

Director:
Tony Scott
Cast:
Denzel Washington, John Travolta, James Gandolfini, John Turturro
Running Time:
194
Rated:

Starring two of Hollywood's most noted and respected actors and a well-established director, The Taking of Pelham 123, a remake of the 1974 film by the same name, should have been great. However, due to Tony Scott's relentless style, as well as an unfulfilling conclusion, the film falters the entire way, providing only glimpses of the feature that could, and should have been made.
