Universal has already begun to slate their 2015 releases, announcing today that both Pitch Perfect and Snow White and the Huntsman would be getting the sequel treatment.
The story of Snow White has been retold many times since the original story was collected by the Grimm brothers in the early 1800s. The original is actually quite dark and involves a corset and poisoned comb in addition to the standard (and comparatively tame) poisoned apple. While the old versions of Snow White entail her being saved by a prince, recent retellings have shifted and made Snow White a more modern woman who’s fully capable of saving herself. Mostly.
To tide you over until the June 1st release of Snow White and the Huntsman, Florence + the Machine have released a music video for their song, 'Breath of Life,' which is featured on the film's Official Motion Picture Soundtrack. The album hits store shelves on May 29th, but you can catch the music video debut now.
Next summer Stewart will be playing Snow White in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman and the studio has just released their first poster of the young actress.
