Danielle Bartz
After rowing through four years at the University of Texas and spending a year in the Dominican Republic preparing to save the world, my friend (and founder) Stephen called me and asked me for a favor and edit 3 movie reviews that he needed to post on his website. Over a year later, I'm his only editor, and he somehow managed to recruit my writing skills as well. I have no complaints as I love both theatre and film, and I see more movies now than ever before. I have a secret love for documentaries that earned me a press pass to SXSW 2010, and I'll never look back. I have opinions about everything, but I can always argue the other side, so when it comes to the films I review, I'm better off assigned to those I've never heard of and just walking out with a feeling. I cannot, not watch horror films, despite the fact that so many are terrible, and I love movies that make you really think. The movies I can watch over and over until I wear the discs out are the "good v. evil" epics, like LOTR, X-Men, and of course -my favorite- Harry Potter.
Confession: I have never seen the original Star Wars (I know, I know...put your tomatoes away!), and I need to see more classics.
Favorite Oldies: Gone With the Wind, Steel Magnolias, and A League of Their Own.
I will write a best-seller, be a comedian, and be friends with Ellen Degeneres one day. Until then, I'll keep watching movies. If you would like to employ me full time or take me out on a date, please send all inquiries to my screener Stephen Davis at stephen@collegemoviereview.com .
