Your Sister's Sister
Admitting love is never easy; especially when friendship and siblings are involved. Your Sister’s Sister follows the story of Jack, a young man who has recently lost his brother. His best friend Iris (Blunt) invites him to her father’s cabin off the coast to relax after his hellish year. On his first night he has a drunken encounter with Iris’s sister Hannah, (DeWitt) who shows up to the cabin unannounced. From there, things slide steadily downhill.
Hilariously funny yet horribly depressing, Blunt, DeWitt, and Duplass absolutely murder their respective roles. The on-screen chemistry between Iris and Jack is one of a kind, as is the emotion invoked by all three cast members. The execution isn’t easy in places, but director Lynn Shelton manages to pull off the rather difficult subject matter with surprising ease. This is easily a film that I would recommend to others, and absolutely one I would watch again - even if it’s just to study Mark Duplass’s wonderful comedic timing.
Your Sister's Sister is competing in the Spotlight category.
