Waiting for Lightening
When you hear about a film that centers on a dude who jumps over the Great Wall of China on a skateboard then you should probably go check it out. Waiting for Lightning tells the compelling story of Danny Way, one of the world’s best pro skateboarders, and his efforts of jumping the Great Wall.
This story is truly one of true inspiration and determination. As a young child, Danny Way gained the reputation as one of the best skateboarders in the world. He was the typical California kid, wild and adventurous as he constantly worked to push himself and the envelope when it came to his craft. When the idea of jumping the Great Wall of China originally came to him, Danny couldn't help but 'jump' at the opportunity.
The film is very well done and helps give meaning to Danny’s story. Waiting for Lightning will have you engaged from start to finish. I'm not a huge fan of the sport, and I often find my mind wandering when it becomes the center of conversation. This film refuses to let me drift, keeping things moving as it unveiled one of the most interesting skateboarding documentaries I've ever seen.
