Sucker Punch

I will be the first to admit that against my better judgement, I really enjoyed seeing Sucker Punch when it hit theaters earlier this year.  Zack Snyder does wonders when it comes to CGI, and while the film does come off as a teenage boy's biggest wet dream, you can't deny the stellar visuals that comprise this two hour action adventure tale.

Emily Browning leads a group of 'all-star' female actors as she tackles the rugged terrain in an attempt to free them all from the grasp of a torturous mental asylum.  Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung surround her during much of her journey, battling the likes of Jon Hamm in an attempt to garner revenge on her evil step-father.

Okay, the story and the actors are hardly something to write home about.  But let it be known that Sucker Punch excels on its visuals.  An onslaught of special effects, mixed with an unique and vibrant alter-reality allow the film to engage your imagination and succeed.  It isn't Oscar worthy, but add in a few really impressive special features and an extended cut of the feature film and this Blu-Ray disc is the perfect fix for any Snyder fan!
