You Tube Sensation Stirs Up Laughs on the Big Screen

The recent premiere of The People vs George Lucas at SXSW was preceded by a four minute YouTube-style film that has gained a lot of attention online: Star Wars Retold. If you haven’t had a chance to see this clip, it’s only a click away. Director Joe Nicolosi asked his friend Amanda to retell the story of the original Star Wars trilogy. The only problem is that Amanda has somehow been living under a rock her entire life—she’s never actually watched the films. Her retelling of Luke’s epic journey is rattled with inaccuracies and assumptions… and it is absolutely hilarious. Did you know that “Hans” and Luke kissed at the end of Episode VI? Yeah, me neither.
