Courageous
Following in the footsteps of the creators first two films Fireproof and Facing the Giants, Courageous thrives on its story, not its actors.
The film's story centers around fatherhood as five men struggle to balance work and family. It takes us on a journey of struggle and understanding as the men work to be a role model to those at home.
The story itself is rooted heavily in religion as the five men use the church and God to come to terms with their failings. The family concept is pushed at heavily, as is the roles of the household. Christians will likely find the film to be enjoyable and a great teaching tool for those they love - even if the acting is nothing to be congratulated on.
Courageous was made with minimal funds but its overall impact is vast. To many it will be a heart-wrenching story about love, loss and family. It is the perfect choice for family night and is definitely worth a purchase. Rarely these days do we get a film that teaches us a life lesson. Courageous makes up for that by teaching us many!
